If you’re a parent of a baby or toddler, you know the exhaustion that comes with endless wake-ups, delayed bedtimes, and unpredictable naps. Many families reach a point where the lack of sleep isn’t just affecting their little one, it’s actually impacting the entire household. That’s exactly where one family found themselves before reaching out to Sure Sleep for 1:1 sleep support and training with me.
Meet K: A gorgeous, cheeky 10 month old
K was a bright, energetic baby with a loving family. Mum, Dad, and an older brother. Like so many families, they wanted more than just better sleep; they told me on their intake form that they wanted:
Evenings together as a couple
Time to spend with his older brother 1:1
More rest and space for self-care
Their own sleep space back
A smooth transition into daycare
These goals weren’t just about K’s sleep, they were about restoring balance and wellbeing for the whole family before Mum headed back to work.
The struggles before sleep support
Prior to starting 1:1 sleep support, nights were exhausting and unpredictable:
Bedtime delays of up to two hours
Frequent wake-ups, sometimes hourly
Split nights with long periods of wakefulness (1-2hours)
Nights ending in Mum or Dad’s bed
Early rising between 5:30–6:30am
Only short and unpredictable naps
Sound familiar? Many parents think this is just how it has to be but it doesn’t.
The transformation after just two weeks
With a personalised sleep plan and ongoing support, everything shifted:
K began settling to sleep calmly
Night wakes reduced to one (or none!)
He slept in his cot all night
He was waking refreshed at 7 am (with a gentle nudge from Mum sometimes)
His afternoon nap consolidated, giving him more restorative daytime sleep (Even at Daycare!)
Not only was K sleeping better, but his family finally got the evenings and rest they’d been craving.
Why personalised baby sleep support works
Every child is unique, and so is every family. That’s why cookie-cutter advice often doesn’t work at all or work long term. A personalised sleep plan takes into account your baby’s temperament, your parenting style, and your family’s goals. This makes it realistic and sustainable. With the right support, you don’t just improve sleep, you create more time, energy, and connection as a family.
But what does his Mum say?
"Aleisha has literally changed me and my family's life. We have struggled with K's sleep since he was 3 months old. Constant night wakes, up for hours in the night and huge delayed bed times. I have struggled with PND since K was born and knew I needed to do something about his sleep however was worried how sleep training would impact my mental health. Returning to work was also extremely daunting as being a nurse sleep is vital so I knew I had to do it. From the moment I spoke to Aleisha on the phone I knew that I was in safe hands. She was so understanding and knowledgeable around MMH and PND and I felt heard. Within a week I had a baby who slept through the night with the odd one wake up, a happy baby and happy parents. A month or so on and we are still in the same boat and all loving the extra sleep. We have the odd off nights / naps however are now able to troubleshoot and know Aleisha is just a message away. Aleisha literally changed our life and I am forever grateful for her gentle guidance and support."
