What you need to know about the SnuzPod5

Hi, I’m Aleisha. I’m a Family Sleep and Wellness Coach with Sure Sleep, and I recently had the privilege of getting to know the Edwards & Co SnüzPod5 up close over two days at the Auckland Baby Show.
What struck me most was how much thought has gone into making it both practical for parents and supportive for babies. Safe, versatile, portable, and beautifully designed. It really does cover the key things I look for when recommending a bassinet to families navigating those newborn sleep months.
One of the biggest benefits of the SnüzPod5 is that it makes room-sharing safe and simple. Having your baby in the same room for the first six months is recommended under NZ SUDI guidelines, as it reduces risk and makes night-time care much easier. With your baby close by, you can respond quickly to feeds or resettles without leaving your own sleep space. That responsiveness supports infant sleep and often means more rest for the whole family.
It also gives parents peace of mind. Instead of worrying or constantly checking another room, you can simply glance over and know your baby is snug, safe, and within reach. It’s that balance of closeness and safe sleep that helps your baby feel connected to you, while you know they’re resting in their own dedicated sleep space.
Some of the features that really stood out to me (and to parents at the show) were:
Zip-down side: Use it as a standalone bassinet or a secure co-sleeper. This makes night feeds and comforting so much easier while still keeping baby in their own safe sleep environment.
Generous size: Gives you more time with your baby safely room-sharing without needing to rearrange the whole bedroom to fit in a cot.
Rocking stand: A gentle rock can be a lifesaver for settling. It’s one of the “5 S’s” that helps babies calm and drift off to sleep, and it’s a great option when you’re starting to support more hands-off settling later on.
Portability: Lightweight and so easy to move around. For parents recovering from a C-section or juggling older kids, being able to shift it room to room is a huge help. Even the grandparents loved this feature at the show!
Mesh windows: Excellent for breathability and visibility. You can see each other without fully waking, which is reassuring for both baby and parent.
Practical extras: Adjustable height to fit snugly against your bed, secure straps for safe co-sleeping mode, and a stylish, understated design.
As a sleep consultant (and a mum), I know babies don’t actually need a lot in those early months but one thing they do need is a safe, supportive sleep space. The SnüzPod5 provides exactly that, while also helping parents feel more rested, connected, and confident.
